ZONE 17 AND ZONE 20 NOW UNITED 

○ Upon arriving in the city, the first thing that strikes you isn't the silence... it's the absence of everything that once had meaning. The library, once guardian of knowledge and refuge for restless minds, lies devastated, with books scattered like autumn leaves unpicked. Beyond, the university remains desolate, as if the dreams of thousands of students had evaporated in a single breath, leaving only empty hallways and blackboards that no longer teach anything.

○  The old golf club, once a sanctuary for elites and sunny afternoons, is now a wild course where nature plays alone: the grass has become a jungle, the flags on the holes have fallen, and the electric forklifts have died where they ran out of charge... a perfect metaphor for the entire city.

○  The streets that connect these places are silent witnesses of oblivion. There is no traffic, no footsteps, no voices. Only the echo of what was. It's a corner where everything experienced seems to have stopped with a final gasp, as if the city itself had closed its eyes... and didn't dare to open them again.

○ Nestled along the city's westbound freeway, amid the distant sound of the end of the world and the weeds beginning to creep through the cracks in the asphalt, the cemetery appears... as if the apocalypse had wanted to leave a well-placed metaphor on the side of the road. The tombstones, already covered by the dust of time and indifference, gaze toward the horizon as if knowing that everyone is now at rest, whether they like it or not.

○  Following the highway, you reach Rockford Hills, once the city's shining and ostentatious jewel. Millionaires' homes, luxury cars, perfectly manicured lawns... all of this has become a mirage buried under the weight of the disaster. The streets, now completely devoid of life, are broken, devastated, and filled with stopped vehicles as if someone had said "stop" and everyone had obeyed instantly... never to return.

○  The irony is that the wealth is still there, only it's changed hands: it now belongs to the dust, to the vines that climb the facades, and to the crows that walk the sidewalks as if they were the new entrepreneurs of the place. Rockford Hills is no longer a symbol of power, but a silent reminder of how even the most opulent luxury turns to junk when the world decides to stop turning.
